Staff Model

The Staff Model ball features a compression of 90, which is 10 points softer that the Staff Model X. This ball is designed for the elite golfer who wants the performance of a Tour caliber golf ball but prefers a lower spin rate than a harder urethane ball.

The 2026 Staff Model iteration produces ball velocity, distance, and a lower spin rate (~ 3.5% to 4%) than “harder” premium urethane balls on both driver and irons. The ball utilises a soft-compression rubber core, a softer inner mantle layer to control driver spin, a hard ionomer outer mantle layer for velocity and distance, and a thin, soft cast urethane cover layer for exceptional spin on approach shots.

The dimple pattern of the Staff Model ball comprises 362 dimples arranged in a modified hexahedral pattern. The dimple pattern is designed to produce the optimum flight trajectory to maximise distance performance.

Staff Model X

The new Staff Model X remains the World’s Fastest Urethane golf ball but now offers a softer feel and sound to address feedback from Wilson Tour professionals.

This was achieved with a construction comprising a small, mid-compression core, a soft fatty-acid modified terpolymer inner mantle layer, an extra-stiff ionomer outer cover layer, and an ultra-thin cast urethane cover.

The softer compression core, compared to the previous Staff Model X, reduces driver spin rate, the soft inner mantle layer provides a combination of velocity and feel/sound, the stiff outer mantle layer provides ball velocity, and a thin, soft cast urethane cover combines with the outer mantle layer to provide exceptional spin on approach shots.

The dimple pattern of the Staff Model X is a 362 hexagonal seamless dimple pattern designed to produce the optimum flight trajectory to maximise distance performance.

Dual Carbonfly Wrap Technology

Weight savings from the carbon crown and sole in the G440 K driver are reallocated within the design, mainly into a high density tungsten back weight. This drives the CG lower and deeper for faster ball speeds and helps achieve the record setting MOI for a PING driver.

In addition to being four grams heavier than the G430 MAX 10K, the back weight is movable to one of three positions including draw, neutral and fade, allowing golfers to shift the CG and achieve their desired results.

The proven T9S+ forged face of the G440 K driver continues to evolve and delivers faster ball speeds for longer and straighter drives.

The combination of a shallower face and refinements to the VFT shaping provide more flexing, retaining consistent ball speeds across the entire face, especially in the high heel region.

Spinsistency, PING’s variable face curvature innovation, helps ensure consistent spin while retaining ball speed.

Sound Design

Joining the Ti 811 body to the carbon crown and sole of the G440 K driver while ensuring a pleasing sound required PING’s engineering team to develop a composite crown bridge and sole ribs.

These stiffen the crown and sole during impact, resulting in a solid and slightly muted impact experience.

“With the addition of the carbon sole, we knew the sound characteristics of the G440 K driver would be different than previous models,” said Solheim. “Through finite element analysis, sound testing and player feedback, our engineers developed the lightweight crown bridge and sole ribs to combat any undesirable frequencies. The G440 K driver has a very pleasing and confident sound.”

G440 K HL High Launch

The lighter overall weight of the G440 K HL driver is an ideal build for slower swing speed golfers who do not generate sufficient club-head speed and ball velocity from traditionally weighted clubs.

Custom engineered and custom built at 46 inches with a lighter back weight of 28 grams, ultra light shafts including PING Alta Quick 35 and 45, and a lightweight grip, the result is a lower overall system weight.

The Qi4D family consists of the Qi4D, Qi4D LS, Qi4D Max and Qi4D Max Lite, with TaylorMade describing the range as its fastest and most fittable driver lineup to date.

All four models will be available for pre-order now, with retail availability from January 29, priced at £549. Launch Monitor Enabled (LME) versions will also be offered at £579.

According to TaylorMade, modern driver performance is increasingly defined by speed and personalisation, and the Qi4D range has been engineered to deliver both.

Carbon face technology at the core

At the heart of the Qi4D range is a new carbon face design, which TaylorMade says produces faster ball speeds than traditional titanium faces while also improving durability.

A reengineered roll radius across the face is designed to deliver more consistent spin and distance on shots struck both high and low on the face.

The drivers also feature an updated Speed Pocket, developed using Finite Element Analysis, to improve face flexibility and ball speed on common impact locations low on the face.

TaylorMade’s proven 60x Carbon Twist Face technology remains, helping reduce dispersion on off-centre strikes.

Aerodynamics and fitting

Each Qi4D head shape has been refined through hundreds of simulations to balance aerodynamic efficiency with forgiveness and stability.

TaylorMade says the improved shaping allows golfers to swing faster while maintaining confidence at address.

A major focus of the range is fitting. Drawing on data from more than 11 million driver shots, TaylorMade has developed its new REAX shaft lineup, designed to suit golfers based on their swing rotation rate — high, mid or low.

Golfers can now determine their rotation rate using a simple face-on video of their swing, helping fitters recommend the most suitable REAX shaft.

The system aims to simplify the fitting process and make customisation more accessible to everyday golfers.

Representing a bold new chapter in Mizuno’s putter design philosophy, the M.CRAFT City Series departs from the cadence of previous M.CRAFT, OMOI and M.CRAFT X models to reconnect with the company’s heritage of precise engineering, pure feedback and timeless craftsmanship.

The City Series reflects a new creative direction built on four guiding principles: heritage, individuality, innovation, and foundation. Each model honours a different facet of Mizuno’s design identity.

Forged in Japan from Pure Select 1025E Mild Carbon Steel, it ensures the purest, most responsive feel at impact, uniting advanced sound analysis, deep milling precision, and copper-infused forging to deliver the most refined M.CRAFT line to date.

At the heart of every head lies a Copper Underlay, introduced to create the softest, most responsive feel yet achieved in a Mizuno putter.

This is complemented by a newly refined Deep Face Milling pattern, producing a smoother roll and purer acoustic feedback at impact.

A subtle top-edge alignment decal has been introduced across all heads, a minimalist guide that blends seamlessly into each model’s form to promote confidence and consistency at address.

The Kyoto captures the traditional essence of the Mizuno blade, expressed in two variants, Kyoto P (plumber) and Kyoto S (slant). Each features a toe-biased blade pad design, positioning the centre of gravity directly behind the impact zone for unmatched control and connection.

A thicker sole structure in the heel and toe enhances rigidity, refining both the sound and feel through impact and removing any trace of metallic resonance. The result is a putter that embodies classic proportions yet feels entirely modern in feedback and flow.

Defined by its refined mid-mallet silhouette, the Osaka (available in plumber and slant-neck configurations) blends traditional shaping with contemporary stability.

Its shorter heel-toe length and wide blade stance provide visual stability at address, instilling confidence before every stroke. Perimeter weighting provides enhanced MOI, while subtle toe hang options allow players to select their preferred release profile.

The Osaka’s balanced proportions and deep milling deliver the crisp, satisfying sound and roll that Mizuno’s tour staff demanded, a model equally suited to both blade and mallet players seeking assured stability without sacrificing feel.

Driven by Mizuno’s extensive sound and vibration analysis, the Nagoya introduces the Roll-Up Cavity, a geometry designed to minimise sole displacement at impact while amplifying resonance control.

Available in a slant or double-bend neck, this unique structure produces a denser, more solid strike and an ultra-stable roll. Enhanced perimeter weighting further increases MOI, while the refined mass distribution delivers a truer sensation through the stroke, the culmination of years of acoustic and structural study.

Completing the family, the Tokyo showcases Mizuno’s Channel Wing design, a sculpted cavity that blends aerodynamic form with exceptional rigidity. Like the Nagoya, its geometry is tuned through sound analysis to eliminate unwanted frequencies and the metallic ‘ting’ found in earlier OMOI prototypes.

Also available in slant or double-bend, the Tokyo’s more compact profile appeals to purists seeking precision and feedback in a shape that frames the ball cleanly and promotes a natural, repeatable stroke.

Every putter in the series is available in two premium finishes—Grey Ion or Nickel—each chosen to complement the head shape and provide a refined, durable aesthetic that matches Mizuno’s meticulous standards.
