Chart Hills Golf Club and London Golf Club have unveiled a new stay and play golf package for 2025, designed to give golfers the opportunity to experience the very best inland golf that the Southeast of England has to offer.

Available to book from May 1st, The Kent Golf Experience package includes 18 holes of first-class golf on both the Sir Nick Faldo designed course at Chart Hills and the International Jack Nicklaus Course at London Golf Club, in addition to an overnight stay at The Barn, the new luxury accommodation on site at Chart Hills, all for £299 per golfer.

This exciting new offering will allow golfers to experience two famous English courses as part of one unique package. Chart Hills Golf Club, former European Tour Q-School venue, has recently undergone a total property renovation, followed by the installation of new tee boxes on every hole.

The International Course at the London Golf Club has staged many top class tournaments

The result is a picturesque yet challenging layout that is presented in immaculate championship condition.

Meanwhile, London Golf Club has been a fixture of British professional golf since it opened in the mid-1990s, and the International Course is widely revered for its challenging layout, impressive conditioning, and spectacular water features.

VENUE TIE UP

Anthony Tarchetti, General Manager of Chart Hills Golf Club, said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with London Golf Club to offer golfers the chance to experience our fantastic venues.

The new addition of The Barn at Chart Hills completes the premium stay and play experience for our visitors, and we can’t wait to welcome more golfers from around the country and further afield to our fairways.”

The par-72 course at Chart Hills features dramatically undulating fairways, one of the longest bunkers in European golf (The Anaconda), numerous water features including an island green par-3, and complex greens that present a challenge.

Now boasting tees ranging from 5500 yards through to 7100, the course is ready to welcome all levels of golfer to try their hand on the first Sir Nick Faldo designed course in Europe. Sir Nick Faldo himself said that he would “never tire of playing Chart Hills.”

Chart Hills Golf Club in Kent has unveiled the latest phase of its on-going investment plans with the opening of a new six-hole par-3 course and a new practice putting green, both of which were designed by Sir Nick Faldo.

With holes ranging from 50 to 100 yards, ‘The Loop’ is a six-hole course situated opposite the driving range, providing golfers with a unique and challenging experience, perfect for honing their short game skills and enjoyable before or after a round of golf.

In addition, the new 668 square metre practice putting green is also now open for use for members and guests. Adjacent to the first tee, this putting surface draws inspiration from the sites of Sir Nick Faldo’s favourite greens, including its very own ‘Valley of Sin’, as well as taking inspiration from Muirfield Village and Augusta.

A 4-ball can play The Loop in less than half an hour, with the course offering six par-3s of between 50 and 100 yards. The large greens offer a wide variety of pin positions.

The Loop is ideal for players of all standards looking to sharpen up their wedge play, while the large greens will also provide excellent putting practice

NEW TEE BOXES

Elsewhere, as part of the next phase of the enhancements to the Faldo-designed championship course, all 18 holes have recently benefitted from an extensive refurbishment of the tee boxes.

The renovation involved stripping the tee boxes down to the soil, levelling them out, installing additional drainage where required and then returfing the tees. The result is 72 immaculate tee boxes that can withstand foot traffic and weather year-round.

The refurbishment has also included replacing all of the tee markers, which are now named based on their yardage, with the ’71’ tees representing the 7,100-yard course, followed by the 66 tees, 61 and 55 tees, which should be selected based on playing ability and the distance each golfer is capable of hitting the ball.

All the tees on the Championship course have been levelled off and relaid with new turf and new drainage, while the tees are now numbered according to the overall yardage of the course, with ’66’, being the 6,600-yard course from the purple tees, while 71 denotes the back tees, which take the course up to 7,100 yards

The club has also announced further investments, which will include its first on-site accommodation, set to provide premium suites for stay-and-play packages and wedding parties.

ONSITE ACCOMODATION

The Barn at Chart Hills, just a short walk from the main clubhouse, will provide five bedrooms of luxury, boutique-style accommodation for up to 10 guests and is set to open later this year.

“We’re proud to have unveiled the new amenities, including The Loop. It’s the result of a period of intense work from the team. The fact that it’s already been so well received is gratifying,” said General Manager, Anthony Tarchetti.

“We’re equally excited to be unveiling the latest development plans here at Chart Hills, with further investments still to come as we strive to create the very best facilities for members, guests and visitors.

Since 2019, Chart Hills has undergone a complete transformation, and under our ownership that will only continue in the future.”

“The project enhances the fine details of the course that golfers love and appreciate, as well as encouraging golfers to play from the tees that best fits their ability, improving the playing experience for everyone” Tarchetti added.

Chart Hills Golf Club in Kent has announced that the second phase of its major renovation project is now under way, as it continues with its significant multi-year investment.

The renovation work, which is already underway, will include an extensive refurbishment of tee boxes across the course and the completion of the new Sir Nick Faldo-designed par-3 course and putting green.
“We’re extremely excited to be working on another important phase in the enhancement of facilities at Chart Hills,” said General Manager Anthony Tarchetti “When we closed the course in 2020 to initiate our fairway sand-capping project, Chart Hills proceeded to undergo a complete transformation, and this project is about building on that foundation and continuing to improve the experience we can offer. This next stage is about improving the fine details of the course, which we know golfers love and appreciate, and will no doubt cement us as one of the best golf venues in the southeast.”

The entire course will remain open for play during the second phase of the renovation

What’s included in the renovation at Chart Hills

The renovation of the tee boxes will begin by completely re-laying three tee boxes per hole. The tee boxes renovated will be the standard playing tees – blue, yellow, and red. After completion of the first group of holes the team will move onto the remaining holes.

This period will also see the completion of the six-hole, Sir Nick Faldo-designed par-3 course – with holes ranging from 50 to 100 yards. Inspired by the career of the former world number one, the short game loop will offer huge variety, with specific design features dawn from iconic holes at St Andrews, Augusta National, and the main course at Chart Hills.

In addition, a 668-square metre putting green located beside the first tee, also created by Faldo Design, will be officially opened for use. The green features elements of Faldo’s favourite greens from his major wins at St Andrews, Augusta and Muirfield – including its very own Valley of Sin. The new putting green was open for use on August 1.

Unlike 2020, when the club had to close the course for renovation work to take place, Chart Hills will remain open throughout the project, allowing members and visitors to play a continually improving course with minimal disruption.

The Nick Faldo-designed championship course at Chart Hills Golf Club in Kent is to undergo a major renovation following its recent change of ownership.

Since Chart Hills was acquired by Ramac Holdings Ltd in December, an in-house team led by James Cornish and Anthony Tarchetti has been working on a strategy that will see the extensive redevelopment and improvement of the entire 250-acre property.
From mid-to-late July the golf course will be closed to allow green staff and contractors to complete work on all 18 holes, with the renovated Nick Faldo Design course ready for play at the start of the 2021 season, or sooner if growing conditions allow. The first steps taken to elevate the visual and playing aspects of the course include extensive irrigation and sand-capping to the fairways with over 20,000 tonnes of sand. Once seeded, grown and manicured, the new fairways will enable members, guests and visitors to enjoy improved playing surfaces year-round.
During this period, Chart Hills will also be making large-scale changes to the remainder of the club, including the construction of a new driving range, upgraded short game area, additional practice putting green and a refurbished clubhouse.
“It is extremely exciting to see this project get underway”, said Anthony Tarchetti. “The investment that we are making is significant. It is going to take time, but we are confident that the end result will cement Chart Hills’ place among the very best golfing destinations in the South East.”
