Chart Hills Golf Club and London Golf Club have unveiled a new stay and play golf package for 2025, designed to give golfers the opportunity to experience the very best inland golf that the Southeast of England has to offer.

Available to book from May 1st, The Kent Golf Experience package includes 18 holes of first-class golf on both the Sir Nick Faldo designed course at Chart Hills and the International Jack Nicklaus Course at London Golf Club, in addition to an overnight stay at The Barn, the new luxury accommodation on site at Chart Hills, all for £299 per golfer.

This exciting new offering will allow golfers to experience two famous English courses as part of one unique package. Chart Hills Golf Club, former European Tour Q-School venue, has recently undergone a total property renovation, followed by the installation of new tee boxes on every hole.

The International Course at the London Golf Club has staged many top class tournaments

The result is a picturesque yet challenging layout that is presented in immaculate championship condition.

Meanwhile, London Golf Club has been a fixture of British professional golf since it opened in the mid-1990s, and the International Course is widely revered for its challenging layout, impressive conditioning, and spectacular water features.

VENUE TIE UP

Anthony Tarchetti, General Manager of Chart Hills Golf Club, said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with London Golf Club to offer golfers the chance to experience our fantastic venues.

The new addition of The Barn at Chart Hills completes the premium stay and play experience for our visitors, and we can’t wait to welcome more golfers from around the country and further afield to our fairways.”

The par-72 course at Chart Hills features dramatically undulating fairways, one of the longest bunkers in European golf (The Anaconda), numerous water features including an island green par-3, and complex greens that present a challenge.

Now boasting tees ranging from 5500 yards through to 7100, the course is ready to welcome all levels of golfer to try their hand on the first Sir Nick Faldo designed course in Europe. Sir Nick Faldo himself said that he would “never tire of playing Chart Hills.”

The Barn is just a minutes walk from the first tee at Chart Hills

WHAT THE BREAK OFFERS

The new Kent Golf Experience package will also include an overnight bed-and-breakfast stay at The Barn, the new accommodation on site at Chart Hills with four luxury suites, which was launched in 2024 allowing visiting golfers to stay on the property for the first time.

Package prices will start from £299 per adult, and golfers should contact fayeb@charthills.co.uk to submit their booking enquiry.

An inspirational golfer who lost both legs and all but two of his fingers after contracting bacterial meningitis at a golf tournament has been gifted a membership by London Golf Club to help him on his golf journey.

Issa Nlareb, 34, was first introduced to golf at the age of 11 when, following the death of his mother, he started work as a ball boy at a local club to earn money in his home country of Cameroon. After a few years, he progressed to caddying and eventually started playing the game himself.

His talent was obvious from the start, and at one point he was the top-rated player in Africa. A tournament in Egypt in 2018, however, changed the trajectory of his life forever.

During tournament week he contracted bacterial meningitis, losing both legs, all fingers on his left hand and all but two of the fingers on his right hand.

But after a couple of years, it became clear that he missed golf too much to give it up – and to his delight, Nlareb realised that he could still hit a golf ball better than most. Thus began the slow climb up the World Ranking for Golfers with a Disability (WR4GD).

In August, the Cameroonian was one of 30 golfers from six nations who competed on London Golf Club’s International Course as EDGA’s inaugural London Golf Club G4D Shield took place.

Following a superb four-under opening round of 68, Nlareb’s second round 78 in difficult conditions was enough to see him finish one shot clear of the chasing pack.

Issa, pictured with EDGA President Tony Bennett (left) and Ben Stimson, director of golf at London Golf Club, won the G4D event held at the Kent venue earlier this year

The world number 12 recently returned to the prestigious Kent venue, and upon arrival was gifted a membership to the club to enable him to practise and train when in the UK.

Ben Stimson, director of golf at London Golf Club, said: “Issa Nlareb is an incredibly inspirational individual – his story of resilience can teach us all how to react in life to setbacks.

“His love for the game of golf is infectious, and we are delighted to be able to offer our world-class services to support him during his journey over the coming years.”

Nlareb said: “I love to play golf here. The practice facilities are in such great condition. The courses are very challenging, and everyone has been extremely welcoming. I’m looking forward to using London Golf Club as a training base when in England and would like to thank the club for this kind gesture.”

Nlareb will defend his title at London Golf Club in 2025 when the London Golf Club G4D Shield returns.

London Golf Club has hailed an incredible few days of golf after some of the leading golfers with a disability descended on the Kent venue to compete for the inaugural London Golf Club G4D Shield.

Held from August 6-8, the EDGA event – the first held at London Golf Club since 2021 – saw a field of 30 golfers from six nations compete over 36 holes on the prestigious International Course.

Following a superb four-under opening round of 68, overnight leader Issa Nlareb’s second round 78 was enough in difficult conditions to finish one shot ahead of runner-up Jack McCrindle, and four strokes clear of the rest of the line-up.

TALENTED INDIVIDUALS

Ben Stimson, director of golf at London Golf Club, said: “It was an honour to host the inaugural London Golf Club G4D shield on our International Course. The event was a humbling experience for the entire team, and we witnessed some magnificent golf from extremely talented individuals.

“It was incredible to spectate and watch how people with disabilities were able to navigate their way through a round of golf with such commitment and determination. Congratulations to Issa Nlareb, and we look forward to welcoming the EDGA Tour back to London Golf Club in 2025.”

The first Cameroonian to ever play in the US Adaptive Open, Nlareb suffered from bacterial meningitis while competing at the Alps Tour’s Ein Bay Open in Egypt. The prognosis led to the amputation of both legs and multiple fingers.

A group of 30 golfers with a disability took part in the inaugural London Golf Club G4D Shield

Speaking after victory, Nlareb said: “It was my honour to play in England and this lovely golf course. I like playing this type of course and I thank the London Golf Club team because it is not easy to keep it in this condition. I also want to thank EDGA, the sponsors and my wife Francesca.”

INCLUSIVITY & ACCESSIBILTY

As part of the build-up to the event, the club and EDGA – an organisation which works with 50 national golf federations to deliver opportunities to sample, participate and compete in golf – promoted inclusivity and accessibility for golfers with a disability across the wider Kent region.

Coaching was provided by the EDGA team to London Golf Club’s PGA professional Paul Stuart to ensure that the club is fully educated and skilled around providing lessons to golfers with disabilities, and free golf lessons were made available to local children and adults with a disability.

The EDGA team also worked closely with London Golf Club staff across the golf course and wider facility to help identify all opportunities for improving visitor experience and for reaching new customers across the disability spectrum.

Dr Tony Bennett, President of EDGA, said: “When London Golf Club agreed to host an EDGA Tour event it immediately felt like a good match. The whole team at this innovative and welcoming club has been so easy to work with throughout the planning process, all the way to delivering the London Golf Club G4D Shield.

“We were aiming for 30 players at this first event and we know that many of these golfers who clearly enjoyed their experience will now spread the word on the quality of the course and the warmth of their reception. I anticipate that getting a place in the 2025 event will be much desired by many G4D players.”

London Golf Club in Kent is playing a leading role in golf’s drive to beat cancer after forming a new charity partnership with Prostate Cancer UK, to help beat a disease affecting one-in -eight men in the UK.

The Ash-based club has announced a calendar of events over the next 12 months to raise awareness of the most common cancer in men and raise funds for ground-breaking research to deliver a national prostate cancer screening programme and save men’s lives.

In addition to hosting a series of fund-raising events between now and next September including a charity golf day and Prostate Cancer UK’s 36-hole Big Golf Race, London Golf Club will promote the charity to members and guests in a number of other ways across its facilities – including donation tins in the golf shop, reception and Spike Bar, staff wearing Prostate Cancer UK’s iconic ‘Man of Men’ badges as part of their uniform and a special charity dish on the menu.

As well as having opportunities to donate and fundraise, London Golf Club members and visitors as will be encouraged to find out more about their prostate cancer risk, a disease so prevalent in the golf community considering men at greatest risk are men over 50, black men and men with a family history of the disease.

London Golf Club’s chief executive, Stephen Follett, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have formed this new partnership and to be working with Prostate Cancer UK over the next 12 months. Prostate cancer affects the lives of so many men and their families, and I would encourage all our members and visitors to support the charity in any way they can so that we can help to beat this dreadful disease.”

London Golf Club head professional Paul Stuart added: “As one of the main touch points with every golfer at the London Golf Club, our PGA professionals are delighted to support Prostate Cancer UK in this partnership; further supporting their work with the PGA as well as members and visitors playing golf here; a significant proportion of which are men at risk of prostate cancer.”

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with around 475,000 living with and after the disease.

Nicola Tallett, director of fundraising and supporter engagement at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “We’re delighted to partner with the London Golf Club and look forward to an exciting 12 months on and off the course. Golf is so influential in raising the profile of prostate cancer – a disease which exists in every golf club, affecting one in eight men in the UK. We’re proud the London Golf Club are committed to helping us beat prostate cancer by hosting a charity golf day, and by getting their staff and membership networks to show their support by taking on our Big Golf Race – 36 holes of golf in one day. This partnership will mean more golfers understand their risk of prostate cancer; and we’ll work with everyone at the club to help fund ground-breaking research to help deliver a national prostate cancer screening programme.”

Golfers wanting to find out more about their risk of prostate cancer straightaway can use Prostate Cancer UK’s 30-second online risk checker available at prostatecanceruk.org.

In a further sign of the closening relationship between the PGA TOUR and the European Tour, European Tour Destinations, a network of world-class golf venues which all have a close association with the European Tour has announced a new partnership with the PGA TOUR’s TPC Network that will enable members of clubs in either group to be able to play at any of the private and resort courses in both networks.

Owned, operated and licensed by the PGA TOUR, the TPC Network is comprised of more than 30 leading private, resort and daily fee venues that have hosted or has been designed to host Tour events. In addition to Sawgrass, among the most recognisable venues include TPC Summerlin in Texas, venue for last week’s Shriners Championship; TPC Scottsdale in Arizona, home of the Phoenix Open; TPC River Highlands in Connecticut which hosts the Travelers Championship, and TPC Sugarloaf in Georgia, venue the PGA Tour’s BellSouth Classic for many years, and more recently the Mitsubishi Electric Classic on the Champions Tour.

TPC Scottsdale

European Tour Destinations’ offers Europe Tour Packages and the network of clubs has risen to 28 golf clubs and resorts spread through 19 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia. These include the likes of Quinta do Lago in Portugal, Le Golf National in France, PGA Catalunya in Spain, Verdura in Italy, Costa Navarino in Greece and Lighthouse in Bulgaria. London Golf Club in Kent is the only member of the ETD in the UK.

The partnership between the two networks means that members of the London Golf Club, for example, will be able to enjoy a round at TPC Network venue up to six times a year for no extra fee or at a 50% discounted rate, dependent of the venue. Sawgrass, home to the PGA Tour’s Players Championship, currently charges greens of over $600, while TPC Scottsdale charges around $400 a round, so there are some big savings to be made for London Golf Club members that are looking to organise a ‘bucket list’ golf break to the US.

“We are extremely excited to strengthen our relationship with European Tour Destinations,” said John Hugghins, Senior Vice President of TPC Network operations. “This partnership adds incredible value, as we can offer the most consistent level of experience at the highest rated golf courses – no matter where you are in the world.”

Ian Knox, Head of European Tour Destinations, said: “With the strengthening of relationships between our two Tours through our strategic alliance, working with the TPC Network seemed an obvious fit,” said “We are delighted that members at our network venues will now have access to the TPC Passport program and we look forward to welcoming TPC members to many of our world class destinations.”

Scotland’s Calum Hill won the Cazoo Classic, formerly known as the English Open, after shooting a final round 67 at London Golf Club in Kent to win by single shot.

The 26-year-old from Kirkcaldy had missed out on an opportunity of a first victory at last week’s Hero Open at Fairmont St Andrews, losing out to hcompatriot Grant Forrest having shared the lead heading into the final day, but he made no mistake this week.

Hill was one stroke off the pace entering round four and was two shots back as he reached the turn, but birdies at the 10th, 13th and 15th edged him clear of the pack on 16 under. The three-time Challenge Tour winner holed a crucial par putt on the 17th as the contenders lined up behind him, including Frenchmen Alexander Levy who stormed through the pack with an eight under 64 to set a 15 under par clubhouse target.

Hill held his nerve and a par at the last earned him a 16 under finishing total and the title as the inaugural Cazoo Classic champion, Levy claiming outright second place for his best finish since 2018 when he won the Trophée Hassan II.

Richard Bland continued his impressive summer as he shared third place with Callum Shinkwin, Jamie Donaldson and Rasmus Højgaard. The latter held a three-shot lead entering the final day, but an error-strewn round saw the young Dane finish with a level-par 72 to drop back into the pack.

Speaking of his breakthrough win, Hill, who graduated from the Challenge Tour last season, said: “It’s brilliant and I’m delighted. I’m happy with how I managed to play my last 11 or 12 holes and I’m really proud of what I managed to do. I’m also happy I know I can get into Wentworth for the PGA Championship now, as that was in doubt. This is the starting point and if I can take it on from here I’ll see how far I can go.”

Blessed with many of the UK’s most revered links courses and dozens of pretty coastal towns and villages, the county of Kent is ready to host your next golfing break

Boasting beautiful countryside, charming coastal towns, captivating castles, unspoiled villages, vibrant vineyards and bursting with history and culture, Kent offers the perfect escape to any eager explorer.

Whether you’re searching to tantalise your taste buds with a new cuisine, spend some quality time on a fun-filled family break, laze around on a luxurious retreat, or tackle some of the UK’s most challenging links courses, Kent is sure to have something for you.

With great motorway links and only a 38-minute train journey from London, Kent is also home to the fastest domestic and international rail links in England.

Kent has a range of world-class golf courses across the county, including three Open championship hosts in White Cliffs Country – Royal St George’s, Royal Cinque Ports and Prince’s. The east Kent coast also offers incredible links experiences atop chalky white cliffs with views across the Channel.

By contrast, inland Kent with its rich, rolling countryside, is the perfect backdrop to its heathland and parkland courses. Golfers can also immerse themselves in the county’s rich history playing on the estates of both Leeds Castle and Hever Castle.

The Golf in Kent partnership, co-ordinated by Visit Kent, brings together 10 leading golf courses across the county, including both London Golf Club and Royal St George’s, to promote the county as one of the UK’s top golf destinations.

Kent’s iconic white cliffs

WHITE CLIFFS COUNTRY – THE HOME OF KENT’S GOLF COAST

Connecting the vibrant, world famous town of Dover and its iconic, ruggedly beautiful White Cliffs, with the quaint coastal dwelling and former smuggling haunt of Deal, and the perfectly preserved medieval Cinque Port of Sandwich, White Cliffs Country is a unique destination.
Here, striking coastline meets quintessential countryside, ancient history meets modern convenience, and peace and tranquillity meet action and adventure. Home to Kent’s Golf Coast, White Cliffs Country played proud host to The Open Championship for the 18th time last month, when golf fans were treated to four days of high-class action from the world’s best players over Royal St George’s revered fairways.

Easily reached from London by the Highspeed line, home to a major international cruise port, and offering the UK’s shortest ferry crossing from Europe, White Cliffs Country is one of Britain’s most accessible golfing destinations. It enjoys one of the warmest and driest climates in the UK.

Royal St George’s

1 / ROYAL ST GEORGE’S GOLF CLUB
The widely acclaimed Royal St Georges – regularly voted the number one course in England – has hosted The Open Championship 14 times and in 2021 once again staged golf’s oldest major. Sandwich, as it is also known, is not a traditional out-and-back links layout, with each nine set out in a loose figure of eight that blends beautifully into the surroundings of wildflowers, orchids, dune grasses and the sweet song of the sky lark with views over Pegwell Bay and the iconic White Cliffs.

2 / LONDON GOLF CLUB
As a European Tour Destination and part of the IMG Prestige network, London Golf Club provides an oasis of golfing tranquillity in 700 acres of idyllic Kent countryside, just 20 miles from London. The Heritage Course is a Jack Nicklaus Signature design that bears all the hallmarks of the 18-time Major Champion. Host to the 2008 and 2009 European Open, the course provides an exhilarating test for golfers of all abilities. The International course is pure downland and the quick undulating fairways force a links-style approach.

Prince’s Golf Club offers 27 holes of quality links golf

3 / PRINCE’S GOLF CLUB
Prince’s Golf Club boasts 27 holes of championship links in three 9-hole loops – The Shore, The Dunes and The Himalayas. Each loop has its own unique characteristics that have recently benefited from substantial investment and redevelopment which has seen the course start to rise up the Top 100 lists. An impressive array of 97 revetted bunkers, including the now-famous Sarazen Bunker, rolling greens and seaside breezes make for challenging golf. Prince’s also offers well-appointed apartment accommodation at The Lodge at Prince’s and a contemporary restaurant, Brasserie on the Bay, offering stunning views over Sandwich Bay, surrounding golf courses and beyond.

4 / ROYAL CINQUE PORTS GOLF CLUB
Royal Cinque Ports’ 18-hole Championship course is widely regarded as one of the finest links layouts in the world. The club also has excellent practice facilities, including a driving range, putting green, chipping green and pitching greens. The club has hosted many top-level events, no higher than the two Open Championships it staged back in 1909 and 1920.

The London Club’s Heritage Course

London Golf Club will host a European Tour event for the first time since 2014 when the English Open swings into Kent for the final event of the European Tour’s ‘UK Swing’ from August 12-15.

The Jack Nicklaus-designed Heritage Course will play host to the historic national open for the first time.

London Golf Club boasts a rich history of hosting elite professional events, beginning in 2008 with the first of two back-to-back editions of the European Open at the Kent venue, while in 2014, the club’s International Course hosted the Volvo World Match Play.

The Brands Hatch-based club has also been a popular stop on the Legends Tour in years past, hosting the 2018 and 2019 editions of the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.

“We are delighted to be returning to London Golf Club later this year for the English Open,” said Keith Pelley, Chief Executive Officer of the European Tour. “We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the club, which was strengthened further when it became our very first European Tour Destination in 2010. “The London Club has been a popular venue among our players in the past and I am sure will be again in August for the final tournament of our UK Swing, following the preceding events in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.”

Stephen Follett, Chief Executive of London Golf Club, said: “The entire team at London Golf Club are delighted to be hosting the English Open this year on our Heritage Course. Our courses have played host to many events throughout our club’s history, and we look forward to testing the Heritage against some of the best players in the game. It will be a joy to welcome everyone in August for what will certainly be a great show of championship golf.”

Under the UK government’s planned relaxation of Covid restrictions, spectators are expected to be allowed in to watch the action in August. For details about tickets, visit www.europeantour.com.

Price began the final round at the Brands Hatch venue two strokes behind 54-hole leader David McKenzie, but started his surge up the leaderboard with three birdies in his first six holes, including one at the first hole. A bogey on the seventh saw him make the turn at two under par to apply the pressure on the leaders, before he moved swiftly passed them on the back nine. Price shot a blemish-free 33, including an eagle on the 11th and a birdie on the 16th to set the target at 17 under par.

With Kingston and Lonard unable to match the Welshman’s total, Price was crowned champion to become the first player from Wales to win the event since Brain Huggett in 1993.

“This win is a little nicer than the first one,” said Price, who previous senior win came at the Winston Open in 2017. “I’ve had my wife and two children here with me, and the children haven’t seen me win anything so that made it special. I’ve been playing quite well all year, with a lot of top-ten finishes, but without a win, so this was a huge relief for me. The birdie on the first got me off to a nice start. I hit a good tee shot and a nice six iron and then a good chip. I holed a nice putt and that settled me down. I had a number in my mind all week. 18 under won last year and I wanted to get to that. I got to 17, which is pretty close, and 18 under would’ve seen them off but 17 under was good enough to get the job done.”

Campbell recorded a final round of 67, including an eagle finish, to finish two shots behind Price in second place alongside South Africa’s Kingston and Australian Lonard. While overnight leader McKenzie signed for a final round of 72, level par, to take fifth.
