The Golf Trust has launched its 2025 fundraising project, Going the Extra Mile.<\/p>\n
A team of 12 amateur golfers will be playing 18 rounds of golf across 5 countries in just 6 days this June, all with the ambitious aim of raising \u00a380,000 to purchase 3 new Paragolfer all-terrain wheelchairs.<\/p>\n
This new project builds on the success of Project 24, which raised enough money to purchase 2 Paragolfers which are in use at Walmley Golf Club and Roehampton Club in England.<\/p>\n
The ambition is to place the 3 new machines in parts of the UK where there is currently no local access to these specialist vehicles, which enable people with disabilities to play golf.<\/p>\n
Demand for these machines has grown significantly in the past few years as awareness of the positive impact the Paragolfer can have on physical and mental health.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we started campaigning and fundraising to make golf using the Paragolfer more accessible for people with mobility issues there were none available for public use\u201d explains founder of The Golf Trust Cae Menai-Davis.<\/p>\n
